Read of the Day: ESPN profiles Daniel “Pistola” Colt McCoy

with 2 comments

Get ready for the game of the week by reading up on Longhorns quarterback, Heisman candidate Colt McCoy.  Rick Reilly does a great job telling stories in this one.  I especially like when the couple asks him if he’s in the marching band.  Brilliant.  Read here:

The Eyes Of Texas Are Upon Him.

  1. Thanks for the good read!!

I know the fluff gets old sometimes but I enjoy it. Its good to have players to root for that are good guys too, not just excellent football players.

I really think people will be surprised how far Colt and Tebow are drafted, they are solid guys with huge character upside. In todays NFL you cant afford to have the Plexicos and Crabtrees costing your offense, because they cant play

Im really lookig forward to this game and I hope its a big game for Colt because he is a helluva young man

    • I only have a problem with fluff in “real” news. I like the fluff in sports. These stories make the games that much more compelling. It’s cool knowing who you’re cheering for or against.

I hope you all also heard Bob Stoops and Mack Brown’s interviews on Mike And Mike this morning. If not, you can listen to them here: http://espn.go.com/espnradio/show?showId=mikeandmike

The audio files are a little way down the page on the left under “Show In Review.” There is also a link on the page so you can subscribe to the podcast, like I do.
