Week 10 Picks

with 7 comments

Jon and I split last week, so he maintained his two-game lead over me in the picks.  This is where we stand:

Jon:  128-32

Austin:  126-34

There is a lot of potential for upsets this week, but nothing terribly likely.  Because of that, we only differ on two picks this week.  Just enough for me to tie things back up…

  1. Nobody wanted to pull the trigger on Oregon State or Navy, huh? I think Austin is catching up this week.

    • There were about 10 upsets I looked at this weekend that I ultimately chose against. I’ll explain some of those in my predictions tomorrow.

I think Oregon State poses an interesting matchup for Cal. Two teams that play very little defense and run the ball well. I went with Cal because I think they have the edge on QB and Oregon State’s defense really hasn’t shown the ability to stop much of anyone this year.

And Navy poses an interesting threat with to Notre Dame, but I just can’t pick a team that lost to Temple, barely scraped by Wake Forest and needed OT to beat SMU and Air Force over Notre Dame.

  2. Upsets: LSU over Bama, Tulsa barely beats Houston and Vandy over Florida because Spikes has to sit. just kidding, but I am taking LSU and Tulsa

    • LSU and Alabama will be a great defensive struggle that will look even better than it is because their offenses STINK. I look forward to that game. And I thought Tulsa might beat Houston, but they’ve been sliding badly. They’ve lost their last three, and Kinne is coming back from a concussion. I don’t think they have what it takes to keep up with Houston’s offense.

  3. Your right about Tulsa and Kinne, I forgot about that. I took them as a long shot because if you catch Houstons offense out of rythem and you can score enough points you can out last them. But its still a reach.

  4. […] a comment » Just like a movie sequel, it’s a different week with different events but the same results.  Jon and I both got dinged up by the myriad of upsets […]
